Since the publication of the Wang Jingwei & Modern China series, it has continued to receive attention from scholars, authors, researchers, and the general readers around the world. More importantly, the series has brought a substantial body of previously little-known primary-source material back into the study and discussion of modern Chinese history.

We are especially grateful for the support we have received from so many people over the years. The participation of scholars, publishers, and readers have allowed us to organize symposia and public discussions on Wang Jingwei and Republican-era Chinese history since 2019, inviting scholars from different backgrounds, as well as people with first-hand historical experience, to share their research and memories.

Generating new research, discussion, and exchange long after its original publication is what we value most about this series.

In gratitude for this support — and, more importantly, in the hope that historical materials can fulfill their purpose — the Trust has for many years continued to donate books from the series to universities, schools, libraries, research institutions, scholars, and students. Recipient institutions have included the University of Tokyo, National Chung Hsing University, Tunghai University, the Yanhui Book Repository (延慧書庫), and other academic and educational institutions.
