As award-winning journalist Chen Kuo-wei reported, on December 14, 2025, China Times Publishing and the Wang Jingwei Irrevocable Trust held a book launch in Taipei for the paperback edition of Wang Jingwei: His Life, Ideas and Beliefs—Reconstructing the History of Republican China with Firsthand Materials. The event drew significant attention from both the media and academic circles.

The report highlights that the book, meticulously compiled by Ho Mang Hang, Wang Jingwei’s son-in-law, the book features a collection of Wang’s autobiographical drafts, private correspondence, and numerous primary documents.

The event invited esteemed historians, such as Eugene Chiu and Hsu Yuming, to provide analyses of Wang’s psychological journey as he navigated the conflict between idealism and reality while the nation stood on the brink of collapse. Cindy Ho, Wang’s granddaughter, noted that the book does more than just reveal crucial political insights into events such as the Liao Zhongkai assassination and the Zhongshan Warship Incident; it reveals the authentic character of Wang Jingwei as a person — his temperament and interpersonal skills — beyond political labels.

Unlike previous works that observe Wang Jingwei through external perspectives or indirect sources, the direct materials presented in Wang Jingwei: His Life, Ideas and Beliefs allow us to truly understand and witness the internal world of Wang Jingwei.Hsu Yuming
