In the Q&A session of the seminar series delivered on April 6 2024, Dr. Augustine Pan from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and renowned expert in Chinese Intellectual History Professor Eugene Chiu responded to questions from the audience. Topics included the Wuhan–Communist split, the rise of Mao Zedong, and the handling of the military under the Wang regime after the war.

After the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan, if the Chongqing government had utilized Mr. Wang’s army to defend China and facilitate a peaceful retreat of Japanese forces to prevent the Communists from seizing the area previously occupied by the Japanese, things would not be as they are today.AUGUSTINE PAN
