Who Is Wang Jingwei? | 2026 Taipei International Book Exhibition

wjwchinanewsEvents

At the 2026 Taipei International Book Exhibition, the highly anticipated Wang Jingwei: His Life, Ideas and Beliefs—Reconstructing the History of Republican China with Firsthand Materials will be featured at the China Times Publishing Co. booth. On February 6 at 10:30 a.m., Wang Jingwei’s granddaughter and Managing Editor of the Wang Jingwei & Modern China series, Cindy Ho, will hold a sharing session and book signing at the booth — don’t miss it!

Unlike the stereotypical portrayal — such as the “traitor” label or comparisons to Leslie Cheung’s appearance — Cindy Ho will approach the topic from the perspective of a third-generation descendant, sharing her personal insights. She is not only Wang Jingwei’s granddaughter but also the inheritor of The Wang Jingwei Irrevocable Trust, founded by her parents Ho Mang Hang and Wang Wenxing. She has made public her father’s meticulously compiled, collected, and preserved firsthand materials. Through the process of publishing these historical documents, she has deepened her understanding of Wang Jingwei and emphasizes that Wang was not merely a symbol but a flesh-and-blood individual navigating the crises of nation and its people. Readers can experience this firsthand in the newly published Wang Jingwei: His Life, Ideas and Beliefs, which will be on display at the China Times Publishing Co. booth during the Taipei International Book Exhibition.

We sincerely invite readers interested in Wang Jingwei and the history of Republican China to participate, starting from firsthand materials to re-understand modern Chinese history.
