In 2024, more expanded editions of the Wang Jingwei and Modern China series were launched worldwide, sparking lively discussions across various sectors. In April and June, four book launch seminars in Taipei brought together experts, historical witnesses, and media from around the globe, presenting a diverse range of perspectives. We extend our thanks to all speakers and attendees for their participation in uncovering the true history of Wang Jingwei through first-hand materials.
In April, Dr. Augustine Pan from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and Dr. Liang Jiyong, a Hong Kong historian, gave keynote speeches with Professor Eugene Chiu from Tunghai University moderating the discussions. Through the perspective of those acquainted with the history of the period viewed in historical context, the seminars delved into Wang Jingwei’s observations and reflections on war and the current situation from a broad perspective.
To understand Wang Jingwei, one must delve into his discourse. This is why Cindy Ho compiled Wang Jingwei’s Political Discourse, a collection containing a wealth of information. Her work in putting together this book is highly commendable, as it greatly aids researchers in accessing materials more conveniently. On behalf of researchers of modern Chinese history, I express gratitude to Cindy.Professor Hsu Yuming

Independent author Yu Jie spoke and engaged in discussions with current affairs commentators Akio Yaita and attorney Sang Pu, exploring Wang Jingwei’s forward-thinking ideas and statements on present day cross-strait developments within the historical and political contexts.
